Half this crap is lifted word-for-word from the Internet, so this guy isn’t a columnist for a reputable publication. Second of all, looking to the accomplishments of Jews as a way to reflect on the failures of Muslims is obnoxious. Why not look to the great Muslim nations of the past and ask why there isn’t now the same outpouring of intellectual and scientific accomplishments?
What inhibits the progress of our Muslim brothers and sisters isn’t strictly education — there’s no lack of madrasses throughout the Middle East. What thwarts their progress is the rise of fundamentalism. If you insist on a silly comparison to Jews, at least mention that nearly all the Jews mentioned here are a) not religious nutcases, and b) come from democratic societies where free speech and secular education are the rule, not the exception.
