FULL GALE DALE – SOCIALIST NATION????

By fred | June 21, 2009

FROM FULL GALE DALE
This is a simple analogy indeed.
I recall, as far back as 1936, we were told that the Democrats would lead us in to a purely Socialistic way of life, and that this would be the ruination of this Country.
Guess what? The Rooseveldt – Truman era lasted twenty years, and we remained a Democratic Republic.
Since that time we have had four Democratic Administrations, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, and Clinton, twenty more years in all. Guess what? We are still a Democratic Republic.
Now we are embarked on another Democratic Administration, and the fear merchants are again spreading the old “Bugaboo” about Our being turned into a Socialist Nation.
I’m pretty sure these are the same people, that have been telling the American Public, (for as long as I can remember), that if they were in power, they would “Cut Taxes, Reduce the size of the Government, and give more power back to the States.
Has any of this happened? (Well they did lower the Taxes of the richest Americans). Gee! I wonder where all the new jobs, that was supposed to create, went? (Maybe overseas), certainly not here, and where are all the new factories, and businesses, they were supposed create? Ask all the people that are now out of jobs, where are these boons to our economy, that they were supposed to make happen, with their guardianship of our financial resources?
When will the American Public begin believing that “fear tactics” are not the answer, never have been, never will be. Many Tyrants have tried that tack, and failed!
I much prefer a more optimistic view, and would far rather make a mistake solving a problem, than keep digging a deeper hole of debt.
There is a very different element in the real world where “variables” are the norm, and a confined classroom of students that have never faced adversity in the work place.

A simple analogy? Not only simple, but stupid.

But you know that!

Take care… Dale

A recent survey of Americans indicates that the younger you are, the
more the fairness of Socialism appeals. In fact, those under 30 lean
strongly toward Socialism and Socialistic ideas.

Hope you enjoy this simple analogy.

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he
had never failed a single student before but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would
be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this
class on socialism. All grades would be averaged and everyone would
receive the same grade so no one would fail and no ne would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who
studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little
had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they
wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all
resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of
anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them
that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is
great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all
the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.
