FULL GALE DALE – Re Mr. Peters article – comments!
By fred | July 12, 2009
Hi Gang: The guy that wrote this article, a Mr. Peters, is correct in what he say’s, (in my estimation), but though he covers much of what has been going on in this, and other Countries, during the last
few years, hasn’t as far as I can tell, come up with viable answers
to our, and other Nations agenda.
About six years ago, (when Bush had started his “Weapons of Mass
destruction” tirade), to get an O.K. to invade Iraq, I stated that I
hoped we would not be making the same mistakes Israel, had been
making for years with the Palestinian Liberation Organization, (PLO).
Nor to a lesser degree, what the U.K. had been doing “fighting” the
IRA, Irish Republican Army, in Northern Ireland.
Both of these “Alliance members” of ours it seems to me, have been fighting the old fashioned “Chivalrous” type warfare that calls for “Gentlemen” to, after knocking the opponent to the ground, allow him to get up before resuming hostilities.
This was fine strategy for kids growing up and settling disputes on the school grounds, but hardly logical for armed opponents, wanting
to kill you at any cost.
You would think, (after more than two thousand years), that
Israelites would have learned that Arabs don’t like them.
In World War Two, we, and others, fought regimes similar to Islam.
The peoples of Japan, and to a lesser degree, Germany and Italy,
were indoctrinated with the belief that they were “chosen” people,
and had a God given right to conquer the world and rule over all others.
So they were told by their Military and Religious leaders, and were promised great rewards and much pleasure after accomplishment. Even in the “after-life”.
We all know now, or should, that fanatics are a force to be reckoned with.
Surely we haven’t forgotten the “Battle of the Bulge” in Europe, or the “Kamikaze” air war in the battle for Okinawa?
Many Americans have assumed, as have others, that Islamic Arabs are human, and understand “Ethics”, Humanity, Mutual Respect, and Toleration.
They do not!
They will say anything, do anything, and perform any otherwise
Intolerable act, to attain their ultimate goal. Death to all
“Infidels” I.E. Non believers of the Islamic faith.
These are not rational human beings, and should never be treated as such.
Can some of these folks be saved, or converted to become useful
peaceful citizens? Possibly, but not at their convenience, but rather
after much necessary observation, if and when time and circumstance
permits.
Do I recommend racial annihilation? This would be very difficult, if not impossible. Check out the Nazi experiment in this type endeavor
against Jews. Just too many folks, and too much well meaning
opposition.
I believe I recommended, (way back in 2003), that we either do
something great for these people to win their respect and admiration,
or use our superior weaponry to, in effect, put the fear of Allah
into them.
We have done neither.
At this juncture, we no longer have the time and/or money to impress them with our ability to build lasting great things for them, nor would their Religious leaders allow us to complete any structures
that might benefit them for years. Such as distillation plants, (for
turning sea water into pure drinking water), and thus making their
vast desert arable, for food production and livable areas.
Naturally there are many benefits their co-operation could bring
them if they would just tune their clerics hate filled messages off,
and our willingness to help them, on. But this, they are programed
not to agree to.
This leaves us with the choice of 1. Take the necessary steps to
change their minds by fear, or, 2. Get out of Iraq, knowing full
well, that one day we would have to come back and finish the job.
I’m reminded of an occurrence during W.W. Two, Italy, when the
allied invading forces were held up due to a Catholic Monastery
being occupied by a German force of Artillery that commanded the
advance area of the invading troops, and could, and did cause much
death and destruction to those troops with deadly efficiency.
The Allied troops were pinned down and, sadly decimated, because the “High Command” would not allow the Monastery to be bombed.
As I recall, it took nearly two weeks and a high number of allied
deaths before the order was given to turn the Bombers loose on this
bastion.
I believe it took two air sorties to silence these guns and allow
the successful march up the Italian peninsula and liberation of all
Italy.
The point here is, sometimes, (in a war time situation), you must do things that under ordinary circumstances, would be unthinkable.
From the onset of the Iraq war there have been incidences of Arabs hiding in their Mosques, and using them for storage (ammo, and guns), and vantage points with which to “snipe” at Allied forces.
Like in Italy, so many years ago, our troops were not allowed to
fire on these Religious buildings, (though many American lives had
been lost), due to misunderstood attitudes about the enemy.
He will do anything, use any force, take any advantage, in order to kill Infidels. In his mind, that is us.
One of the truly big mistakes we have made in fighting this war is, it is “NOT A WAR”!
The enemy have declared a Jihad, or Holy War against us. We have
fought a “punitive action”, against them.
We cannot win a War, if we are not fighting one.
World War Two was fought as a “Declared Unconditional Surrender
War”, and so should this one be declared.
In a (Declared War), the winner makes all the laws, rulings, life
adjustments, needed to maintain a safe living condition for all, till
a workable peace time plan can be formulated, and put into action.
Now, I’m not a military genius, (I’m sure that comes as no surprise to many of you), but have found out in other circumstances that if something doesn’t work, it’s time to come up with a different angle to start from.
There is an old saying,(I love old saying’s), that there is a right way of doing things, a wrong way, and a, (take your choice), the Army way, the Navy way, Marine way, etc.
What this really say’s is, that nothing is so set in concrete that it cannot be chipped away and a new plan developed.
I’m sure there are many possibilities that have, or will be opened to us, if for no other reason than just because they must.
It’s time guy’s, to open up the old thinking machine, and start
using it. The answers to our problems are there. They always are.
No plan is perfect in itself, but while “too many cooks may spoil
the broth”, there is no such thing as too many ideas to solve a
problem, just a matter of fitting the different pieces together, into
a workable solution.
If your mind doesn’t function that way, encourage others whose minds do. We need all the help we can get.
Most folks I know are not wimps. We are Americans!
