It seems to me, from as far back as I can remember, whenever good things were happening in this Country, we had a Democratic President.
My first memory, of course, is of F.D.Rooseveldt, who (at the time) was leading us out of a terrible, World wide Depression.
Then came World War Two, and he and his successor H.S.Truman, led us to Victory there.
Truman went on to "integrate the Military, get the G.I. bill of rights passed into law, and began the reconstruction of a war torn Europe, and Japan.
Then D.D. Eisenhower became President, and (to his credit) continued on Trumans plan to integrate our Nations Public Schools, and Universities. Then he spent money, and increased the size of Government. Hey! Isn't that what Democrats are supposed to do?
Then came J.F. Kennedy who backed down the USSR in the Cuban Missile Crisis, and took up Trumans Integration policies. He, of course was murdered, and L.B. Johnson, took over and followed through with many of J.F.K.s ideas, and really helped our "Cicil Rights Movement".
R.M. Nixon came next, and what can you say about him? Not much really. G.Ford, came next and about all he did was (thankfully) very little.
J. Carter, was next. He tried to do good, and tried to be popular, but didn't do much of either, (till he left Office).
R.Reagan was next. He told us that Democrats were Tax and Spend prone, and we bought that.
He then Taxed more and spent more than any President, (make that "ALL" the Presidents), who had ever held that Office.
But he had a nice smile and a good delivery of his speeches and he pulled it off.
G.W. Bush Sr. came next, and spent even more.
W.J.Clinton came next and, ( at last), things started to get done to benefit the American Populace. Unfortunately he had other problems, and couldn't accomplish as much as he might have done, otherwise.
Now we have another G.W. Bush , but I needn't tell you about him.
The choice now is simple! Do we continue as we have been going, or do we start getting ahead of the game once again?
I vote for the latter. DLM
