Illegal aliens-the costs to our nation-your opinion!

Dear Friends–When this major issue to our nation’s health first was discussed some time ago –I had so many conflicting opinions. As a child, and in high school in the mid 1940’s so many of my friends were and still are Mexican. It was common knowledge that many of their parents arrived in California illegally. All that I knew, raised their kids to be law abiding and developed into good solid citizens and, as I said, many are still lifetime friends. My lifetime friend and the best man at Sally and my wedding 58 years ago is of Mexican parents, although I do not think they arrived as illegals.
Even my father could be described as a “Danish wetback” – at the age of 16 he left a Danish sailing freighter for a trip ashore when they docked in San Francisco and never went back. He joined the U.S. army a year of so later (first world war) and receive an honorable discharge and still wasn’t a citizen. In those days they were not so fussy.
He became a citizen, legally in 1941 and after that sponsored a number of fellow Danes to the U. S. – the paperwork often taking years to complete.
There is a system to come to the U. S. – yes, it is a paper trail and well it should be. BUT – when you have properly done all that you appreciate what you have, that you have entered the land of the free. You honor that privilage by being a good citizen. To break the laws of our land by coming here illegally is just not right – O.K. my father did it – but that was a different time, there was little or no laws against intering this nation, there is now.
Should a person be rewarded and giving all the rights and more of a United States citizens (or 0f those that go through the many years of paperwork and praying that it is accepted), should those not playing by the rules - breaking the laws of our land, over riding all that -get to be first in line to be citizens? I think not! That is the question that must be answered. I hope you will read the following sent to me by a dear friend Roy, if you agree that it must be stopped, I hope you will call or write you congress people and tell them—immediately! As there is a bill going through congress that will give them all the rights and privileges of citizens and more – it must not be passed! Please help! Your comments will be appreciated.
