SOLVING OUR CRISIS & FULL GALL DALE

Not sure where to put this but selected “Are we becoming a nation of whimps” – it will have to do.
I seem to have several buddies with some interesting ideas. One- a new buddy that likes to go by the name “Swampfrog” found a great solution to our nation’s financial problems – everybody benefits - would put some money in our pockets rather than the pockets of all the rich CEO’s that got us in this mess in the first place.
Amazingly these guys create billions of dollars in loses and then leave their companies with millions of dollars in kiss off packets – how come the average American when he loses his job doesn’t get a million of two, only the big company CEO can screw up, drive his company to financial ruin – then retire rich – blows my mind!
Anyway this brilliant plan will never happen – likely because it make too much sense.
After reading this solution to our nations problems I included the latest from my old buddy “Full Gale Dale” he seems to be having a ongoing discussion with another buddy, that I deleted reference too. Dale always has some practical comment, always worth reading.
BUT FIRST– FROM ‘Swampfrog’ a super solution to our nation’s financial problems – READ ON———
Here is a solution that might just work, however I’m sure we would find
a way or the government would find a way to shoot holes in it or somehow
make it too complicated. Just an idea that might could work.

I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in
a We Deserve It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000
bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman
and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals
$425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a
We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college – it’ll be there
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs
Invest in the market – capital drives growth
Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who lost their jobs on Wall St and every other company
that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed
Forces.
If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it…instead of
trickling out
a puny $1000.00 ( “vote buy” ) economic incentive that is being proposed
by
one of our candidates for President.
If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult
U S
Citizen 18+!
As for AIG – liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t.
Sure it’s a crazy idea that can “never work.”
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in
Washington
DC.
And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because
$25.5
Billion is returned
instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.
Ahhh…I feel so much better getting that off my chest.

FROM ‘FULL GALE DALE’ to a undisclosed person! (Names deleted to protect the innocent or ?)
Whew! You almost gave me a Heart attack, when you said you
“agreed with me”, about something I had written about (common sense).
I have a hard time figuring how you, (or, indeed anyone), could
dispute my “critique” of the “Common sense” author-pretender.
From the moment this Country was created, it was a multi ethnic
society, with many languages being used and many (More’s), and
customs, being observed by much of our citizenry, (not just those of
English extraction).
As I write this, there are many people of foreign, original,
nationalities, (now Americans all), serving this Nation as U.S.
Congressmen and women, elected to office by fellow Americans . Some
are liked, some are not.
The original Thomas Paine wrote his treatise at a simpler time of
our history. He was a “Thinker”, and an (Idealist), who just wanted
what was best for his Country. As don’t we all!
For better, or worse, we have a form or selection of our governing
bodies. This is a complicated, (just why this need be, escapes me),
manner, that takes the better part of a year to resolve, but resolve
it we will, in about five weeks.
We will resolve it then, though at probably near 50% votes for each
Candidate.
Some believe, this near equal split in our voting system means we
are a “divided Nation”, and one that cannot function in face of
outside threats, and/or other unforeseen problems. “Not So”!
Historically, we have responded to any and all conditions of a
dangerous type threat to our Nation. We will again, if, as, and when,
the need arises.
In recent articles, you and others, have sent this way, there is a
tendency to equate the “Patriotic fervor” difference between this
point in time, (in Iraq), and that of World War Two.
I wont say this is like comparing Oranges and Apples, it’s more like
comparing the planets (Jupiter, and Mercury).
For starters! We were attacked by well armed foreign enemies, and
returned the favor, in kind.
Yes I know we declared war on Germany and Italy, before they
attacked us, but they were in a Military alliance with Japan and we
knew they would aid and support them.
We attacked Iraq, after being told they were planning on using
Weapons of Mass Destruction on us.
After our attack on Iraq, we found no WMD’s, nor any plans to harm
us in any way. “Oops!”
Now, we have a whole lot of Muslim people, (who didn’t particularly
like us anyway, really hating us).
We may, (in the not too distant future), find ourselves in a real
“Shooting War”, with these folks, and make no mistake, it will be a
very deadly fight!
Will our young men rise to the occasion? Or will they start studying
Arabic? My guess is, we will,(as always), come together, and meet the
danger as best and quickly, as we can.
There is, in many places, worry, that our Nation, as a whole, is not
as Patriotic as at other times. I believe this to be nonsense. They
just get tired of being lied to.
Yes! I know, that you don’t think this has been happening. I
have given you several incidences, where I believe George the Second,
lied to us. You countered with “explanations”, that to me just don’t
make sense.
However! Just to prove my point, I will remind you that, just last
week, he told us that there was really no need for worry about the
Economy, as it would turn around shortly, and all would be as before.
Then Last night, he told us that were in big trouble financially and
we should call our various Congressmen and women, and insist that
they approve a (Giant Bail Out Program), of some 700 billion Dollars
or our whole system might collapse.
I don’t know about your feelings, but I’m a bit apprehensive about
this guy’s intelligence, and acumen about what’s going on around him.
I guess that’s enough “Common Sense” for now…

I’ve think “Swampfrog’s” modest “We Deserve a Dividend” proposal to be a win-win situation. I’ve come across the exact wording elsewhere, so maybe the more people send this out to their friends (and elected officials) the more attention it would get. I’m no economist, but the proposal seems brilliant. Unfortunately, given politics and the miasma in Washington, ain’t gonna happen.

Why should the Government pay ANYTHING for these banks?If they wait a few more days,they will have to take them over anyway,so why pay a dime?This is just a blatant,brazen attempt to give those CEO fatcat bastards one last huge payday.Those bank assets are worth nothing,or pennies on the dollar,and that’s just what uncle sam should pay for them.I want criminal investigations and 20 year prison sentances for the banksters whose bad judgement and outrageous,arrogant greed brought us to this.Remember the great movie It’s a wonderful life?Remember when uncle Billy loses the money and the building and loan needs help?Well,this bailout is like Mr.Potter losing his money,and now he wants all the townspeople to come over and dump out their piggy banks!!!!Uncle Fred and every other Democrat in America,you were right and I was stupidly wrong.Never again.OBAMA 08!!!!Mark.
