THROWING OUT THE MEXICANS – part two

Somehow the Rocky Mountain article was printed out but not my comments to that artical – could me my fault – anyway – my comments follow:

Your article got to me in a round about way, via buddy’s e-mails – however, I think your writer should have checked a bit on the effects of getting rid of all the illegals. If you want to print the facts of what would happen, then read on.
First ask what are they doing here? Yes, you can say they are creating a mess, and if it could be done (sending em back) maybe I would agree. However, I have been too close to this situation when I was Solvang, owned a restaurant there for a few years, my last commerical business, and hopefully at the age of 79 I have learned to stop and think first before writing fantasy. In this case I am afraid we better fix the situation rather than create a police state and force all illegals out of the country immediately. Read on-
The entire Santa Inez valley in California would have shut downand will shut down without the Mexicans. Why??
Besides the bad Mexicans you talk about- there are millions upon millions of them that are hard working, they outwork the Americans two to one in my opinion.
I had practically all Mexican help when I got out of the importing business and the last enterprise I had was a large volume restaurant in the Danish theme town of Solvang, California. If you treat the Mexicans as equals, which they certainly are, pay them equal to a non-Mexican, most will work their hearts out for you, be loyal, watch your business like it was their own. Also, related to the rest of the Santa Inez valley where I had that business this would happen.
Every bakery in town would shut down for lack of help.
Every restaurant in town would shut down for lack of help.
Every winery would shut down for lack of help – no one to pick the grapes, take care of the pruning, etc.
Every cattle ranch, horse ranch, produce growing ranch would shut down for lack of help.
Every hotel and motel would shut down for lack of help.
Who do you think cleans all the rooms and makes all the beds, cares for the grounds, the pools, etc.?? Mexicans of course!
Now take this to a national level.
All the slaughter houses would shut down, no meat for anyone cause most is done by Mexicans. The building of homes and commercial building would likely be cut in half – no labor. There would be no oranges, apples, vegetables in the markets because all the orchards, farms are at least 90% Mexicans.
Same with the oil industry, the fishing industry, the gardens and lawns of many Americans all done by Mexicans. If there is a dirty job to be done, and they will be paid for it, the hard working Mexicans will do it – Americans will not, or not enough of them will do this work to cover all that has to be done.
IF YOU COULD GET AMERICANS TO DO THE DIRTY WORK, THE SWEAT LABOR, THE CLEANING, THE BENDING, THE ‘CRAP’ JOBS – yes, it may work. But it will be a long depression, a long day in hell before you are going to get the average American to do this type of work, at least not willingly. And if they did they would get out of it– as fast as they can.
I had some great Mexicans working for me, yes they had ‘green cards’ – most of which were likely something they had purchased for a few dollars – so they were likely illegal persons. I may have known that, but as long as they had a card, I did not have to be a policeman to figure if it was real or not.
I never had them steal from me which is more than I can say for my ‘gringo’ American help. They used to call me “El Patron” – I believe it is an expression to a father figure boss. Many of the ‘so called’ white help waitresses would steal me blind if they could, I fired a ton of them, finally I had to put so many ‘safe guards’ in place to watch them it was not even silly. The ones that protected me were the Mexicans, they had a saying in Spanish, don’t know the exact words – but it was something like this in English -”Never shit in the nest that feeds you!”
Yes, I think a study should be done on the rape of our society by many of the bad Mexicans, they should not be given free deals, if a person commits a crime out he or she goes, no fooling around. But to kick out the majority of these people that are good, hard, very hard, workers, that only came here to have a better life for themselves and their families, that is stupid. Besides our nation would be in the toilet if we did.
Please think a bit more deeply about this stuff, research the effects, use your heads, this kicking them all out may sound like a way to save a lot of money, but it would be a nightmare for our industries, a hardship our nation could not handle.
SORRY, IT WON’T WORK, MAYBE WISH IT WOULD— BUT FORGET IT! Lets just clean up the system, keep the workers and send bad ones home!
