Chipping from the Rough

Like it or not we are ready to go.
You may not always like my comments however they will always be my honest opinions. If you have a stock you wish me to look over I will try and find the time to do so – however if I don’t like it I will sure as heck tell you – my opinions – are my opinions only. I have been wrong, not that often but it happens.

Hi Fred,
I’m not much into blogging or social networking, but those outlets now seem to be the wave of the future no matter whatever one’s age (I’m just 10 years your junior).
BTW, congrats on your State’s overwhelming endorsement of Obama. I used to think Hillary was the Democrat’s cat’s meow, but her behavior (and to my great discouragement, Bill’s as well), has me sending contributions to Barrack’s campaign. However, anything is better than another Republican to further wreck our nation.
To stay on topic, what do you think of small oil services companies–say, BOLT? No debt, a bit overpriced, a long history of innovation and with fossil energy not yet about to expire (though it inevitably will), is this a sector to watch or forget about?
Best of luck on your new Blog!

Hi Per old buddy, Well Oboma is O. K. I was for Hillary mainly because of her health program, far superior to Oboma’s in my opinion. Oboma wants to COOPERATE with the drug companies, etc. that to me is like cooperating with the devil as they are the problem not the solution in my opinion. Oboma is however a extremely intelligent guy, like his being able to modovate voters and believe will be a great president if he makes it. Feel Hillary would be better, but you take what you get. McCain, I used to like him, but his remarks about could be in Iraq a hundred years to win, who the hell cares about winning. It is a war between tribes, we have no business being there now.
Re you stock symbol BOLT, looked at it. Seems to be clearly growing in business and profits as a oil company and and related stuff. At $18.99 a share when the book is $5.57 it is priced too high for me albeit right now they show a 51% earnings growth so they may well be worth it. The insiders are both buying and selling. Look fine, but not for me. In this area I have a tiny stock – a super small but not too tiny stock I have followed for years and own about 50,000 shares for the past couple years – it is Powder River (PWDR.ob) now only .15 cents a share. Go to YAHOO and punch em in for a look see. They just completed buying there own drilling company. QUOTE:
CALGARY, ALBERTA–(MARKET WIRE)–Feb 12, 2008 — Powder River Petroleum International Inc. (OTC BB:PWDR.OB – News), a revenue generating producer, acquirer and marketer of crude oil and natural gas properties, today announced it has entered into an agreement to complete the purchase of the balance of Texoma Drilling Corporation. Powder River had previously purchased a 50% interest in Texoma, as announced in the press release of November 13, 2007.
UNQUOTE
The stock has been up to .40 cents a share, down now only to market conditions certainly not the company’s fault. If interested, go to YAHOO or a any financial site and read all the back reports. Invest only if you have a long term in mind. I can see nothing but good with this company in the future.
Gotta get to my eBay store see several more orders hit this morning. It has been a ball selling costume jewelry to ladies, CD’s and all that stuff, keeps this old duffer busy.
All the best, Uncle Fred

Hi Fred: Just out of curiosity, what is a Pink Sheet as it relates to stock??? Also does the volatile nature of today’s stock market frighten you at all???? The constant large gains and losses scare me. I do remember you saying one should never use money to buy stocks that is money you need right now, money you cannot afford to lose. Thanks for the info.

How do you think Hilary can PAY for her health care sceme? You realize how corrupt the drug industry is. Lets correct that and we will not NEED her plans.
J.D. Hillary is NOT going to pay for it all of us are going to pay for it, the same as they do in EVERY OTHER INDUSTRIALIZED NATION – You have to join you have no choice, that is what we must have. We pay over three times what the people in every other industrialized nation pays for health care and what do we get for it. The rich get great care they can afford it, there are I understand almost 70 million Americans without health insurance as they can’t afford it. Because we pay three times as much as any other nation for health care we have all those uninsured, plus we are rated 38th in the world in how long we live and in the overall health of our citizens. Can you imagine! There are third world nations that have better health care and live far longer and for less than a third our cost. If that does not make you madder than hell nothing will. Poor folks will have to be forced to join, as they will not volentee to pay, they can’t afford it. It has to be like Social Security where everyone has to join and everyone benefits. I like Hillary, too bad she will not make it, Oboma wants to work with the health care and pharmaccy pill pushers, he should realize that they are the problem NOT the solution.
Just had to put in my two cents here. Uncle Fred

GO PBLS
This company is beating back unfair lawsuits and will soon explode with profits. The price of it’s stock is currently less then the price of a piece of toilet paper. Watch when it goes to $3 soon.

Hi Fred,
I’ve been following PWDR.OB for some time now, and it doesn’t seem to have any legs. I’d be curious to know what it is about it that grabs you.

Legs? Wow, it has to walk? Just kidding, love this BLOG stuff, interacting with buddies is a lot more fun than writing a deadline letter each month. As stated when I put Powder River in our old Chipping portfolio it is a risky stock, and I stated as much to subscribers, the stock is what now? I haven’t looked for awhile, about .15 cents, it was almost up to .40 cent last year. It is a small stock so doesn’t have a huge following, however it has some ‘legs’ for a little guy. Namely:
It is profitable and has been for years. They have smart, good management and management has a ton of shares, shows their confidence. They just purchased a oilfield drilling company so they will not have the huge expenses of farming out that work. You should read the reports as they come in. What has dumped the stock lately is the last report had a drop in profits. When you have a little company growing, often they will be spending money to grow, Powder River is doing that, buying up more oil land, buying the drilling company, all that surely depresses profits.
I will be keeping my shares for many years, it is a tuck away company for me. By the way, if you had this in a PSA (Position Cost Averaging) program you would be buying. I will lay bets it will not be at .15 cent by next year, however we shall see. I like it, I like a little company that can make money as it grows. Thanks Ola for being a part of my Chipping BLOG – love having you. Uncle Fred
